Brett
& I flew over to Scotland to try
the new range of Glenmorangie.
We sat in a room hearing all
about the new marketing plan and
bottle design of Glenmorangie.
At first, I was a bit concerned
- New bottles all this effort in
branding, would the whisky live
up to the hype.
Then I had the privilege in
tasting Glenmorangies new line
and yes it was a privilege. The
new line of Glenmorangie is
closer to a work of art then
whisky, others can only dream of
developing such a whisky rage. I
say range because each whisky
blew me a way, all being so
different but still in that
classic Glenmorangie style.
I realized I was tasting some of
the finest, if not thee finest
whiskies in the world.
Some might question changing the
traditional bottle design and I
too had that concern as well.
But
to be honest the current bottle design
has only been since the 70's and
it would be crime not to put
this whisky into a new designed
bottle . This entire marketing
campaign and bottle design was
born from the Quality of the
Whisky First and not the
other way around, like so many
others in the industry.
Glenmorangie is truly the leader
in the industry from quality,
cask selection, people, and
above all vision.
The Whisky Range
Glenmorangie
The Original
Glenmorangie Original is an
inviting single malt whisky,
acclaimed and appreciated by
luxury spirit drinkers around
the world.
The original expression of
Glenmorangie’s elegant, floral
spirit that is renowned the
world over for exquisite finesse
and alluring complexity,
Glenmorangie The Original is the
intriguing marriage of delicate
spirit and long, slow
maturation.
The taste characteristics from
the first-fill bourbon casks
that permeates the majority of
the aged spirit, coupled with
the increased proportion of our
‘designer casks’ (made from
slow-growth, air-dried American
oak from the Ozark Mountains of
Missouri), results in a
delicious spirit that enhances
the relaxed and convivial mood
of the group by igniting the
senses.
The Original is, quite simply,
the most delicate and
deliciously complex single malt
whisky in the world.
Aroma: Imagine yourself in
an Italian garden surrounded
with mandarin, lemon, apple,
pear and peach trees, their
fruit ripening in the sun. Add
to this the scent of vanilla ice
cream, then enjoy the herbal
aromas of geranium and wild mint
growing nearby
Taste: Savour the fruits of
the Italian garden as creamy
vanilla slips like liquid silk
over the tongue as peaches and
cream, mandarins and lemons
effervesce in the mouth
Finish: The charming
sweetness of delicious juices is
left on the tongue pale
Glenmorangie Lasanta
Glenmorangie Lasanta is an
elegant and full-bodied single
malt whisky that has been extra
matured in Spanish Oloroso
Sherry casks after a minimum of
10 years in ex-bourbon casks.
Its luscious, soft mouth filling
texture, and its deep, enticing,
sweet aroma appeals to luxury
spirit drinkers who like to
experiment, and whose confident
choices, warmth and passion
inspire the mood of the group.
Non chill-filtered and with an
ABV of 46%, its key flavour
notes are of toffee, raisins and
walnuts.
Aroma: Like the most
delicious dessert menu
imaginable, Lasanta taunts the
senses with chocolate covered
raisins, honeycomb and smooth
caramel toffee. Citrus notes
clear the way for the crispy
burnt sugar and melting softness
of crème brulee to be replaced
by the rich aroma of rum and
raisin ice cream
Taste: The full, sweet
flavour typical of Spanish
sherry with sultanas, orange
segments, walnuts and butter
toffee.
Finish: Satisfyingly long
with spiced orange and chocolate
enrobed hazelnuts
Glenmorangie
Quinta Ruban
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is a
velvety-textured single malt
whisky, for confident, colourful,
dynamic luxury spirit drinkers
who like to take the lead.
A mature Glenmorangie that is
transferred from the original
ex-bourbon cask and then extra
matured or “finished” in port
pipes, shipped from the
‘Quintas’ or wine estates of
Portugal. Maturation in the ruby
port pipes develops The Quinta
Ruban into a voluptuously smooth
spirit with a complex balance of
sweet and dry flavours that
engage the entire palate and
envelope it in an intriguing
balance of smooth velvet and
crisp, cooling textures.
Non chill-filtered and with an
ABV of 46%, its key flavour
notes are rich, chocolately and
minty.
Aroma: One sniff and
you’re immediately transported
to a traditional Christmas
dinner party, in a candle-lit
dining room with the aroma of
just-peeled mandarin oranges and
Belgian chocolate mint crisps.
Walnut shells have been thrown
on the roaring fire where their
scent mixes with the lingering
aroma of nutmeg from the
Christmas pudding and the warm,
musky scent of sandalwood that
emanates from the wood-panelled
room
Taste: A caress of silk
velvet on the tongue gives way
to a swathe of rich, dark
chocolate-enrobed walnuts
leaving in their wake the
lemony-rose jelly texture of
Turkish delight. Then
sugar-coated crystallised orange
segments emerge, countered by
crisp mint chocolate, adding a
chiffon like texture
Finish: Lingering
memories of dark minty chocolate
with the effervescence of orange
Glenmorangie
Nectar D’Òr
A captivating single malt whisky
for the sophisticated luxury
spirits drinker who enjoys
delicious extravagance and
sensual pleasures.
With a tremendous ‘gourmand’
appeal, The Nectar D’Òr is
Glenmorangie’s delicious,
complex base spirit that, after
a minimum of 10 years in
ex-bourbon casks, is then extra
matured in specially hand
selected Sauternes wine
barriques. This makes it rich
and sumptuous with a heady,
luscious, beguiling spectrum of
aromatic patisserie desserts
that helps create a memorable
occasion whenever it is enjoyed.
Non chill-filtered and with an
ABV of 46%, its key flavour
notes are lemony, sumptuous and
syrupy.
Aroma: Tempted by the
aromas wafting through the door
of a French patisserie, you step
inside to discover a tangy tarte
au citron with its crisp pastry
case and smooth lemony cream
topping. Next to it is with its
fluffy sponginess and milky
vanilla aroma is a Genoise cake
decorate with crystallised lime
and orange peel. You can smell
plump juicy sultanas, dates,
warming ginger, coconut and
nutmeg. In the background,
gingerbread is baking in a
wood-burning oven
Taste: The smooth,
melting creaminess of lemon tart
leaves the mouth full of citrus
tang that gives way to crème
caramel and zesty lime.
Finish: Languid and sweet
with lemon zest, vanilla cream
and delicate hints of ginger and
nutmeg

matured for an extra period

previously held Port, Sherry or
Sauternes wine.

Notes to Editors:
The Glenmorangie Signet
Close to the Glenmorangie
Distillery stands the Cadboll
Stone - an eighth century
standing stone intricately
carved by the ancient
civilisation that then ruled
northern Scotland, The Picts.
The bottom panel of the stone
has an intricate ‘kaleidoscopic’
design that perfectly represents
the complex, multi-layered
nature of the Glenmorangie
spirit, and so has been adopted
as the new brand emblem - the
Glenmorangie ‘Signet’. The
original Cadboll Stone is housed
in the National Museum of
Scotland in Edinburgh, but a
replica of the stone can be
visited in its original place on
the shores adjacent to
Glenmorangie House at Cadboll,
Ross-shire.
About Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie is recognised as
the most complex single malt
Scotch whisky because of its
multi-layered aromas and
flavours. This spirit originates
in the Scottish Highlands where,
at the Glenmorangie Distillery,
it is distilled in the tallest
stills in Scotland, expertly
matured in the finest oak casks,
and perfected by the 16 Men of
Tain. The distillery was founded
in 1843.
The Glenmorangie Company
The Glenmorangie Company was
founded in 1893 (as Macdonald &
Muir Ltd) and is headquartered
in West Lothian employing around
390 people. Since 2005, The
Glenmorangie Company is part of
Moët Hennessy, the wine and
spirits division of Moët
Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH).
Responsible Drinking
The Glenmorangie Company
advocates responsible drinking
and suggests that drinkers
savour Glenmorangie whiskies in
moderation and in line with
recommended daily guidelines for
