A very subtle and elegant dram that seems more mature then its 10 years. At times, I can't keep up this all of the specialty wood finishes from Glenmorangie. They were the pioneers in the process and helped start the current wood finish craze. I always found their whisky didn't need any 'dressing up' and prefer their traditional American Oak matured expressions. This ten year old is a light, flavorful treat that's an everyday type of whisky. Has some depth to compliment its light character with a nice bite in the finish to remind you that it still has some Highland attitude. Well put together.
Nose: Subtle, floral, malty, oak, fresh and clean
Body: Light and warming
Finish: Long and drying, some nice bite that sticks to your tongue
A Highland beauty!

A light sherried dram that still retains much of Glenmorangie’s core flavor profile. Very appealing and a good honest malt for when you’re in the mood for sherry but not in a heavy and oppressive way. Vibrant, clean and approachable.
Nose: Light, sherry, vibrant, raisins, crushed almonds, tangerines, honey
Body: Light and smooth
Finish: Long, oranges, malt and oak
A pretty dram.

| Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban (port finish) |
|

Wow! You know those chocolate oranges that pop-up everywhere at Christmastime? That’s what fills your nose at the first whiff of Quinta Ruban. There are also raspberries, lemons, anise, fresh nuts, and Werther’s Originals, but it’s that rich chocolate that stays with you. Very full-bodied, with a long, smooth finish, leaving behind hints of bittersweet chocolate, toasted almonds, toasted oak, and anisette toasts. That’s a lot of toast, but this whisky’s jammin’. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).

This is one of those drams that reminds me of why I love Single Malt Scotch. The tops of the new Glenmorangie line. This dram has a great nose, a vibrant body and long flavorful finish. I just loved it. The whole dram works. OK, I’ve heaped enough praise but try this as soon as possible!
Nose: Chocolate and orange candy, fresh and clean, toasted pecans, lemon, caramel, with an undercurrent of classic Glenmorangie
Body: Medium mouth feel, tingling
Finish: Lingering, flavorful, some heat, oak, rich chocolate
Almost the perfect dram.

Sophisticatedly light? Although I can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this dram I came away wanting a little more. Almost too light and reminded me more of a Lowland malt.
Nose: Grassy, hay, light, citrus, lemon zest, a hint of charred oak, thin
Body: Light
Finish: Thin, medium length, oak, citrus, candy corn, dry
Pleasant.

A very rich and impressive dram that has a heavy bourbon nose. I almost had to remind myself that I was drinking a Scottish single malt. Has a great spiciness in the nose and a long sharp finish. If you’re a bourbon drinker you’ll like this dram. Very complex and deep, I loved this one.
Nose: Bourbon, rich and very sweet, caramel, spicy, vanilla, pecans
Body: Thick and flavorful
Finish: Long, sharp and sweet, Classic Glenmorangie finish
Rich and spicy.

A sophisticated and well but together dram that we found very enjoyable. A complex nose and heavy body gives way to a shorter but flavorful finish. The flavors just jump out at you. Definitely doesn't make you work to hard to unlock the drams secrets.
Nose: Oak, fresh and clean, vibrant, lemons, apples, nutmeg, nutty
Body: Chewy
Finish: Short but flavorful, big and gone fast, apples, lemon, oak, bourbon, warming
Easy drinking and very enjoyable.

| Glenmorangie 25 year old Quarter Century |
|
|
Brett– 81
At first honeyed and musty, the Quarter Century’s nose eventually gives way to menthol, gauze, dandelion, chicory, a mix of citrus fruits, dried oysters, sweetened breakfast cereals, and baked ham. Quite the mix. At 25 years old, it’s not surprising that the Quarter Century had a full-bodied, almost meaty, mouthfeel. Neither were we surprised by the quantity of dry oak in the finish, which also contained camphor, cloves (for the ham), and the essence of a field after a late harvest. Quite interesting. |
Glen – 79
Another example that all whiskies don’t get better with age. I found this dram a little unbalanced. After getting passed a nice deep nose I was let down by a slightly bitter finish. Maybe I just expect more from older and more expensive drams.
Nose: Musty, deep, menthol, honey, fruit, dark chocolate, substantial
Body: Medium
Finish: Medium, oak, dry, some bite, a little bitter, cloves
A bit of a let down. |

| Glenmorangie Sherry Wood Finish |

Jeff – 83
A nutty delicate soft whisky that is not overdone. A nice sexy body with sweet honey filling your mouth. With such a great body the finish almost disappoints because it doesn't measure up.

Glen – 81
Glenmorangie offers numerous whiskies finished in unique casks. I've always liked this expression since it was one of the drams that helped introduce me to sherry matured whisky. Big on sherry obviously but not too overpowering. A good honest dram on the sweeter side.

| Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish |
|
|
Jeff – 76
Every time, I take a sip of this dram it reminds me of butterscotch candy my mother would all ways have in her purse. But, then the port gets in the way and gives it a winey character.
|
Glen – 83
I've never got into port cask matured whisky but this dram is a nice exception. A sweet fruity dram and the port adds a nice spiciness.
Nose: A chocolate shop with hints of vanilla and chocolate to start followed by fruit
Body: Medium
Finish: Long and sweet
A nice dram. |

I think the best expression from Glenmorangie. A very easy drinking smooth whisky. I Can't put my fingure on it, put I like this one.
|
Glen – 85
This one is easy drinking and very smooth. A drink all day, finish the bottle type of dram.
Nose: Light, nutty, oak, spicy
Body: Light, sweet
Finish: Short, some light smoke and peat, sherry
If you like specialty wood finished whisky this one is a must. |

Jeff – 98
This Whisky is one of the best my lips, nose and mouth have had the pleasure of such perfection! The best nose on a whisky that I've come across. It's almost like you walked into a bakery smelling fudge and chocolate cake and with a hint of sweet tobacco. Trust me You'll finish your glass and nose it for 30 minutes more. The body is so smooth and rich with passion fruit and hints of wine with a dark chocolate lingering. It doesn't stop here, the finish is long with a slight peppery note that makes you savor every sip.
This whisky is in my Top 2
All I can say is thank you to Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden, for not making a whisky but a work of art.

A truly unique and incredible dram from the popular Glenmorangie Distillery. One
of the greatest whiskies I've ever had and one that's full of robust flavors.
The perfect specialty wood finished dram. This is a cask strength whisky but I found it nosed and tasted much better neat. The nose is amazing that starts
with a heavy port character but softens to a wonderful silky fudge and orange
zest. This one would be in my top ten if it was more widely available. Jeff recently secured a bottle of this great dram. I just have to get him to crack it.
Nose: Big, port, heavy wine character, burnt caramel, orange zest, tobacco,
malty, fudge
Body: Robust, smooth and chewy, oranges
Finish: Long and dry, peppery notes and orange zest
Outrageous!

A nice bottle to pick up at the duty free shop on the way back to the states. You can almost taste the oak while nosing this one. Reminds me of a really really good bourbon. with a peach, winey palet. medium finish that makes you excited for the next sip.

Glen – 91
A beautiful, beautiful elegant whisky that I was extremely fortunate to try. This dram competed with the Margaux cask for Glenmorangie’s recent super premium offering. The Margaux is better but it’s like comparing a Silver Oak to an Opus One. Both are extraordinary. A wonderful bouquet nose, rich and fruity character and a long sweet finish make this a dram to remember.
Nose: Fresh, buttery, caramel, fruity, rich, deep
Body: Medium
Finish: Long and sweet, some heat, fruity
A work of art.

Glen –86
A light subtle Glenmorangie that is named after the warehouse the dram is aged in. We secured this on a recent trip to the distillery. A nice easy drinking straightforward dram that was subtle but still very flavorful. The first fill bourbon casks really come through and if you like a heavily bourbon influenced whisky this is the one for you.
Nose: Light, bourbon, vanilla, malt
Body: Light
Finish: Medium length, flavorful, burnt caramel, fruity, some bite, bourbon
Heavy bourbon influence.

We bottled this one ourselves in Glenmorangie's 'speakeasy' that's part of their distillery tour. This came off as a classic Glenmorangie and remaindered me of the 10 year old. Fresh and clean with that great vanilla and fruity character. Easy drinking and enjoyable.
Nose: Fresh and clean, very subtle, fruity, vanilla and honey
Body: Light, thickens noticeably with water
Finish: Sharp, fruity, medium length, vanilla, grassy
Classic Glenmorangie.
