A very light dram that was pleasant but lacked any real depth. Refreshing and best enjoyed when you want an easy approachable dram. A very good dram for the beginner.

Nose: Light, oak and malt dominate, nutty
Body: Very light
Finish: Short and dry, almond paste

Refreshing.

Knockando 1980, bottled 4-23-07, cask 1912, (46%) Duncan Taylor

Brett – 74

The most straightforward of the bunch. The nose is extremely vegetal, full of wet grasses, with oak, caramel, and floral notes. This morphs into a medium, spicy palate, before ending with a short finish of caramel and hot wintergreen candy. We see this as a before-dinner aperitif.

Glen – 84

A good floral dram that I found enjoyable if not overly complex. Like sticking you face in a fresh floral arrangement. Not overly sweet and reminded me more of a Highland malt. My co-taster picked up more wet grass which I didn’t find as prominent. The finish on this dram was exceptional.

Nose: Fragrant floral notes, some grass and oak
Body: Chewy
Finish: Medium length, starts of hot and slowly fades away, burnt caramel, woody

Lacks complexity but it’s a good flavorful dram.
