The Glenrothes 1991

Speyside Single Malt

I always think of The Glenrothes as the ‘thinking mans dram’. At first blush it’s ok but doesn’t wow you, but the more you dive in the more impressive it gets and more character it reveals. The 1991 expression exemplifies that. At first you’re hit with aldehyde which I don’t care for but behind it you have wonderful depth and flavor. The body is rich while the finish is smooth and outstanding. Seems to melt away in your mouth.

Nose: Aldehyde at first, fruit, orange zest, deep
Body: Big and rich, chewy, wonderful mouthfeel
Finish: Medium length, very smooth and elegant, exceptional

First rate with an exceptional finish
