Rosebank 1990

Of all the closed Lowland distilleries, Rosebank has the best chance to be reopened. Still owned by Diageo, the ‘Queen of the Lowlands’ is a flavorful complex malt that is still widely available. Rosebank was built in 1840 and was named after the roses that bloomed on the banks of the Forth-Cliyde canal. Rosebank employed the triple distillation method and this luxurious malt will surely be missed. You would be wise to stock up now before the malt becomes to expensive.

Undiluted
Nose: Citrus notes with toasted cocoa aromas.
Palate: Dry and spicy initially with cut grass and floral flavours developing.
Diluted
Nose: Fruity aromas - bananas, slightly resinous with sweet perfumed notes.
Palate: Dry - cedar/pine wood, spicy flavours with a touch of ozone.
Finish: Dry - floral.
